  1. This is a great dump recipe! I made it with putanesca sauce tonight and it was delicious. I used less cheese and no breadcrumbs and it was so tasty.

Will probably try other simple variations.

Thanks so much for a good variation of chicken and pasta!

  2. I wish I would have read the comments before trying this. My noodles did not cook even with the foil on tight. If I try this again, I will precook the noodles.

  3. I landed upon this recipe through Pinterest after searching for a quick supper I could prepare on my lunch break.

I doubled the recipe (big hungry family!), but did follow the recipe as posted (just doubled).
The only modification I made was adding 1 extra cup of water as I was using big rotini noodles and didn’t know if they’d cook the same as penne.

This cooked up amazingly well, in the time specified, and was such a hit in our house! I’m sure glad I made a double batch!

Thank you for sharing this recipe! You made one weeknight dinner super yummy, and painless in the kitchen! 🙂

  4. This meal so so easy and delicious! I’ll absolutely be making this again, but the bread crumbs were way too much. Definitely cut them in half or maybe do 2/3rds a cup. A whole cup was a lot.

  5. I followed this recipe exactlu and it turned out prrfect…vet deliciois…thank you!!!

  6. Hi there, sorry for the not-so-nice comments about this dish. Geez, I never figured people could get so mad about a recipe! 🙂 Anyhow, wanted to tell you that I tried this last night, followed your directions to a T, and it came out perfectly. Pasta was cooked and everything. Not sure what some folks did wrong, but this recipe is now in my rotation. THANK YOU!

  7. Thank you so much Christine!!! I truly appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment and I’m so glad you liked the recipe.

  8. Wondering the same thing! I love this recipe but want to pre-prep it and put it in the deep freezer so when our baby is born in about a week we don’t have to think much about meals and we can just toss it in the oven

  9. I tried this recipe last night and it was a big hit. Super easy the only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because it was a little wet. I did make a big change and substituted pasta with veggie noodles. It was delicious. Whole family loved it. Will definitely make this again. Thanks for the recipe.

  10. Oh my goodness!!! Made this tonight and it turned out amazing!!!! Thanks so much for a quick and easy recipe just when I needed it!!!

  11. I stirred the dish a couple of times throughout the cooking process and added 10mins of cook time to make sure it everything cooked thoroughly and evenly. I also used only 1/2C of breadcrumbs and added small dabs of butter on top to make sure they browned nicely.
Everything was cooked perfectly and ended up a big hit. Thank you for the quick and yummy recipe!

  12. Loved it! Had no problem with pasta being undercooked. My pasta was a 16 oz box and my sauce was 25 oz. I used about 2 lbs of chicken beci had that much. I used 3 cups of water. Cooked it the first time for 30 minutes with foil. Then 15 without. Then 10 with crumbs. Then I let it sit for 15 minutes. It was perfect. Next time I will try it in my 9×13 casserole slow cooker then put the insert in the oven to brown the bread crumbs.

  13. I am currently waiting for this to cook. The noodles were not close to being cooked when I took them out at the time indicated. I think that maybe it might be helpful to post a pic of the exact ingredients you use as you make it the next time. So people can see the brand and such. Also adjusting “bread crumbs” to Pablo would be good so people can get a closer result to what you posted. I ended up having to add 2 extra cups of water and let it cook an additional 30 min to get the noodles done. But it might just be the difference in brand too. I did make sure I did 12oz of my 16oz box too knowing it would mess it up if I had too many noodles. Anyways, I’m sure it can be tweaked to fix the noodle issue. Hoping it tastes good once it’s done browning!🤞🏻

  14. I make this frequently and have for some time. It’s always turned out well! This is the first time I’ve read the comments and I’m shocked so many have troubles. Mine always cooks great! Thanks for an easy and delicious recipe!

  15. I made this, but omitted the bread crumbs out of fear from all of the comments. I think I should have just used them because the recipe worked for me. I did have to add an additional 10 minutes but the noodles cooked, and the dish was delicious. Everyone loved it and my 3 year old inhaled it saying “yummy in my tummy”.

  16. Just test the pasta first before you add the toppings. If it is not done to your liking put it back into the oven for a few more minutes. The recipe is fine, you just need to adjust to your own tastes.

  17. I made this recipe tonight and it was very good. My husband and 4 year old loved it. I did have to bake for 45 minutes. I put it in covered for 25 and the pasta was almost cooked but the chicken was raw. I cooked another 20 minutes covered and topped with cheese and shake n bake because I didnt have breadcrumbs…yup I had that look on my face too!!! Not sure how or when I ran out but…Lol. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 was because the timing all together took 55 minutes which isnt ideal on a weeknight after work but it was very good and easy to put together. Thank you for the recipe!!! It will be one of my weekend rotation meals for sure!

  18. This was really good, I used 12 oz of pasta and 2 cups of water, next time I will use 3, the pasta was Al Dante, I baked 30 minutes with foil on, 10 minutes off, and mixed the cheeses and bread crumbs for the topping and cooked another 10 minutes. I also used ring sausage rather than chicken and the fam ate it all!

  19. I made this recipe tonight. It was so good that I am going to serve it on Saturday for a dinner party of 10 people. I cooked 30 min with the foil, 10 with foil off and 10 after adding cheese/breadcrumb mixture and it browned to my satisfaction. I also added some chopped fresh basil in at the time of the foil removal. I let it sit 15min before serving. The only think I can say about the negative reviews is that they did something wrong or its a fictitious reviewer. Thank you Kara for a great recipe!
