  1. Do you cook chicken prior to putting it in the oven? What are your tips for making sure the pasta cooks? Thanks!

  2. I found that my pasta was not cooking, so I added in another cup of water, stirred, and added 10 minutes to the cooking time. It was tasty, but I think next time I will cook the pasta first and use about half as much.

  3. No you don’t need to cook the chicken ahead of time. It all cooks together. Make sure your foil is on tight so that it keeps the moisture in to cook the pasta.

  4. I’m so sorry to hear this. Did you cover the dish with foil while baking? I’m not really sure why your pasta didn’t cook.

  5. Just had this for supper tonight! Delicious! I used spaghetti noodles cause it was all I had and they cooked just fine. Mine was a little watery when I first took it out of the oven, but it seemed to thicken up some after sitting. I had two helpings, it was really good!

  6. This recipe is amazing!!! My box of noodles was 16oz so next time I won’t use the whole thing because some of the noodles on top weren’t submerged and got a little burnt.

I will definitely be making this again! Definite crowd pleaser and so easy. It has all I want in a dinner recipe. Not too many ingredients or steps and quick.

    Thanks so much for sharing!

  7. I used a 16-oz package of pasta. Had to add two extra cups of water and it could probably have actually used a third extra cup of water besides that. Next time I’ll probably cook the pasta and chicken on the stove top and then put everything together. I had to bake this for about twice the amount of time that was specified in the recipe. It would help if the recipe specified the actual ounces of pasta to use. And you should probably leave the tin foil on until your pasta and chicken are cooked thoroughly.

  8. I had chicken and I had spaghetti sauce.
I found your recipe and needed only to doctor it up a ‘bit’.

Here’s what happened, believe it or not, following your recipe.
I used thin spaghetti instead of penne. After mixing the sauce, water, chicken & noodles I did perform a little seasoning (garlic salt, oregano, S&P and a few pepper flakes- for the sauce I had was pretty plain.
For the bread crumbs I had none so I dried out in the oven a few slices of sourdough and pounded them into crumbs. And…. no shredded (fresg) parma so I used powdered; and not quite enough mozzarella so I sprinkled a mixture of mozza and Colby Jack on top

End Result: It was a Hit!!
Thank you SO much for the inspiration…. this dinner turned out Perfect and I will definitely be making this again (next time I might have the actual ingredients)

  9. THANK YOU SO MUCH for taking the time to leave a positive comment. I make this all the time and it’s always a hit. I’m so glad you liked it.

  10. I made this last night. It was a hit with all thee kids and that’s rare! It was so easy and smelled delicious while baking. I’m vegetarian so didn’t taste it. I used three cups of water and it was a bit on the dry side. I may try two jars or sauce next time. Thanks for sharing this great recipe!

  11. I just made this dish! It’s delicious! My hubby and kids loved it. Made it exactly how is written. It’s easy and delicious. Thank you for sharing!
