Oh my goodness! This is my new favorite dinner!! This one pot meal combines all of my favorite things – pasta, Italian sausage, vegetables, and cheese. You just can’t go wrong with that combination. And, guess what? This one pot meal comes together in less than 30 minutes and cost $10 to make. Yep, you read that right! A $10 meal in under 30 minutes. How fabulous is that?!
Ingredients needed for One Pot Cheesy Sausage Pasta Skillet
You can’t really see under all that cheesy goodness but this one pot meal is loaded with delicious ingredients.
- Italian Sausage
- Minced garlic
- Chicken broth
- Water
- Milk
- Diced tomatoes
- Zucchini
- Squash
- Pasta
- Salt and pepper
- Red pepper flakes
- Cheddar Monterey Jack cheese
I mean – can you go wrong with any recipe that calls for pasta, cheese, and Italian sausage? I don’t think so either.
How to make One Pot Cheesy Sausage Pasta Skillet
All you need to do is ground up some Johnsonville Mild Italian Sausage, add in your veggies, liquid, and Barilla Pasta. Let it simmer for a few minutes. Then, top it off with freshly grated cheese for a delicious one pot meal the entire family will love.
Gotta love a one pot meal full of flavor, veggies, and cheese! This is seriously one of the best meals I’ve made in a long time.

Ingredients
- 1 pound Johnsonville Mild Italian Sausage
- 1/2 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 (14 ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 zucchini, sliced (optional)
- 1 squash, sliced (optional)
- 1 box Barilla pasta
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar Monterey Jack cheese
Instructions
- Cook and crumble Italian sausage in large pan. Add garlic and cook for an addition 2-3 minutes.
- Add chicken broth, water, milk, tomatoes, zucchini, squash, and pasta to pan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cover. Cook for 15 minutes or until pasta is tender.
- Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 cup cheese. Sprinkle remaining cheese over pasta and cover for another 5 minutes to allow the cheese to melt.
- Enjoy!
