Is it just me or are jello shots and football games meant to go together? And, since football season has
officially started, I felt that it was the perfect time to share this delicious recipe for Rum and Cherry Coke
Jello Shots.
Not only are these jello shots made with jello but we’ve swapped out the water for rum and, of course, we
had to add Coca-Cola®.
First, can we just admire how pretty these jello shots are. Almost too pretty to eat. I say almost because these jello shots will go fast especially if you’re sharing them with a large group of people.
Ingredients needed to make Rum and Cherry Coke Jello Shots
These fun jello shots only call for 4 ingredients which you know is my kind of recipe. All you need is cherry flavored gelatin, Coca-Cola®, and your favorite rum. You can also add maraschino cherries to the top of each jello shot after refrigerating for an hour, but this is optional.

Feel free to swap out the Coca-Cola® in this recipe for Coca-Cola® Zero Sugar. Or, better yet – make a batch with Coca-Cola® and a batch with Coca-Cola® Zero Sugar. Your guests will love you even more.
How to make Rum and Cherry Coke Jello Shots
Did you know that you can pretty much swap out the water for any liquid when making jello? Yep, it’s true. And, let me just tell you – cherry gelatin, Coca-Cola®, and rum is the perfect jello shot combination.
Start by boiling one cup of Coca-Cola®. Dissolve gelatin in the boiling cola and whisk together. Add the remaining Coca-Cola® and rum and continue to mix. Pour mixture into plastic shot glasses. Refrigerate for 2-4 hours or until the gelatin has completely set. If adding cherries, place cherries on top of each jello shot an hour after placing in the refrigerator.
That’s it! Now you’re ready to enjoy these delicious Rum and Cherry Coke Jello shots while watching football with all your favorite people.
Rum and Cherry Coke Jello Shots
Ingredients
- 2 3 ounces packages of cherry gelatin
- 2 cups Coca-Cola - divided
- 1 cup rum
- Maraschino cherries optional
Instructions
- In a medium pot, boil one cup of Coca-Cola.
- Dissolve gelatin in the boiling cola and whisk together.
- Add the remaining cola and rum to pot. Continue to mix.
- Pour mixture into plastic shot glasses. Refrigerate for 2-4 hours or until the gelatin has completely set.
- If adding cherries, place cherries on top of each jello shot an hour after placing in the refrigerator.
