Want to know what makes this sangria recipe spooktacular?  It’s an easy, make-ahead cocktail that’s great for a crowd.  And, since we can’t have a Halloween cocktail without Halloween colors, I’ve added orange slices and blackberries to this sangria recipe making it perfect for all your Halloween festivities!

Halloween Sangria packed full of wine, brandy, orange juice and fresh fruit.

Ingredients needed to make Halloween Sangria (Msg for 21+)

There are a few important ingredients that need to be added to every pitcher of sangria.

Red Wine

We all know you can’t make sangria without wine.  I prefer fruity red wines when making sangria like Pinot Noir.  I also like using a red blend, Merlot or Cabernet.  I also have a little tip – there is no need to use expensive wine when making sangria.

Halloween Sangria with Sprite

Sprite®

My secret ingredient for making the best Sangria is Sprite®.  Most Sangria recipes call for sugar and sparkling water but I’ve found that adding Sprite® that I grab from Sam’s Club eliminates the need for added sugar and is the perfect addition to any sangria recipe.

And, since I make Sangria A LOT, Sam’s Club makes it easy to stock up on Sprite® along with all the other ingredients I need for this delicious cocktail. The convenience of being able to choose between Club Pickup and their Scan and Go option makes shopping a breeze – especially when planning a party. I plan out everything I need and then I just place my order online. Plus, they always have the best prices so it’s a win-win.

Fruit

Of course we need fruit in every pitcher of wine. Since we’re making Halloween sangria, I recommend adding orange slices and blackberries.  It’s definitely what makes this sangria festive.

Brandy

Every classic sangria recipe calls for Brandy.  Feel free to leave this out if you don’t have any.

Orange Juice

Classic Sangria also calls for orange juice, like Simply Orange®, because it complements the sweetness of the wine and liqueur.

Frozen Grapes

Every cocktail I share includes frozen fruit because I don’t like adding ice to my drinks.  Adding Frozen grapes to the wine glass before serving is the perfect way to keep the sangria cold without watering it down.

Halloween Sangria in pitcher

How to Make Halloween Sangria

Fill a pitcher with orange slices, blackberries, wine, brandy, and orange juice.  Stir to combine and refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours before serving. I like to make my sangria either the night before or first thing in the morning.

Halloween Sangria with Sprite

When ready to serve, add one 12 ounce can of Sprite® to wine mixture and stir.  This adds the bubbly which is my favorite part.

To serve, place a handful of frozen grapes in each wine glass. Pour sangria over frozen grapes and enjoy!
