I shared these cute Santa Treat Cups last year as a contributor for Crafts Unleashed and I’m so excited to share them here today.  I’ve been waiting all year and now that Thanksgiving is over, I figured it was the perfect time.  I don’t know about you but I love this time of year.  I love decorating for the holidays and I LOVE making small gifts for all my favorite people.

So, are you ready to make these adorable Yarn Wrapped Santa Treat Cups?  Fill them with cookies or candy and you have the perfect gift for your friends, neighbors, and more.  And, I won’t blame you if you keep one or two for yourself.

Aren’t they the cutest thing ever?  All you need is your handy dandy glue gun, red and white yarn, a few black buttons, and small flower pots.  Then, turn on a Hallmark Christmas movie and you’re ready to get your craft on.

Yarn Wrapped Santa Treat Cups Supplies

Supplies needed to make your own Santa Treat Cups:

  • Red and white yarn
  • Glue Gun  and Glue Sticks
  • Flower Pots
  • Black Buttons
  • Glue Gun Finger Guards (optional)

First, run a small band of glue around the base of your flower pot.  Quickly add your red yarn and hold in place until glue dries.  This is where you’ll be glad you use the finger guards.  Continue to wrap red yarn around the flower pot until you reach the lip of the pot.  Then continue to wrap yarn around and around.  I did three layers of yarn.  Glue end using your glue gun.

Run a small band of glue around the top of the flower pot and glue white yarn in place.  Continue to wrap white yarn around the entire top of the flower pot.

Glue two black buttons to the front of the flower pot and we’re ready to fill our Santa Treat Cups.  I filled a few with homemade cookies for a fun neighbor gift and teacher gift.

But, look how cute it is with a succulent.  I’m going to spend all weekend making lots of Santa Treat Cups for everyone I know while watching Christmas movies.
