Tips for Printing Printables So They Always Look Fantastic!

After downloading and saving the free printable, it’s time to print our printable. Here are five tips you can use to help your printouts look their best.

Invest in a good printer – I have an Epson Expression Home XP-4100 Wireless Color Printer that I currently use to print my printables and I’m very happy with it.

Choose the right paper – The best way to print printables is on white cardstock. When I’ve tried to print on regular printer paper I found that the ink causes the paper to wrinkle a little especially if the printable requires a lot of ink.

Use a paper trimmer – I recommend using a paper trimmer to cut out these cute little gift tags. It makes it so much easier to cut everything straight.

Use a professional printing service – I also recommend using a professional printing service to get the best quality. I go to Office Depot or Staples a lot to print my printables. I’ve also used Shutterfly and Walgreens to print large printables. Most printables use a lot of ink so it may even save you money to get them professionally printed.

  1. Hi Kara,
Our Kinder team LOVES your Welcome Back! labels using M&M’s! Is there any way that you could make it editable so we could just say “Welcome”? A lot of our kiddos don’t go to Pre-K so this is their first year at school. Hope to hear from you. Thanks a lot!

  2. I was hoping to edit this too! Many of our students are not returning students so we were hoping to be able to edit to say “Welcome to Pre-K” Thank-you!!

  3. These are perfect! Is there a chance I could get one that says “Welcome to 1st Grade?”

  9. I’d love to use this tag as a thank you for a marvellous and magnificent year before I go off on maternity leave. Would these be able to be edited?

    They are so colourful!!

  10. I wanted to tell you thank you for these. I go back to school tomorrow for a hybrid model. It has been SO completely stressful. I wanted to have something to give my first graders on their first day back for live instruction. I was so thankful to see these. I didn’t have to make them myself- just print and attach them to the M & Ms (which I really don’t have time to do right now.) Thank you!!! You gave me helped relieve some stress and made it easy for me to have something for them.

  11. And obviously, from my typos, if I’d had to make something myself right now, it wouldn’t have made sense. Lol

  12. Hi Kara! I love this printable. I have used it several times to welcome back my students. I wondered if you could make it say Welcome Back to Sunday School. We had to shut our program down during Covid, and I’m trying to come up with something cute to welcome the kids back. Thanks

  13. Hi Kara,
