What do you get when you mix together frozen strawberries, milk, cottage cheese and little vanilla?  A delicious Strawberries and Cream Smoothie!

This Strawberries and Cream Smoothie recipe is the perfect breakfast and afternoon snack for busy school days.

Smoothies are my jam:)  There are so many reasons to love smoothies.  Not only are they easy to make but they are packed full of fruits, milk, yogurt and other healthy ingredients.  You just can’t go wrong with a delicious and refreshing smoothie recipe and today I’m sharing one of our favorites.

Strawberries and Cream Smoothie

This Strawberries and Cream Smoothie starts with frozen strawberries.  I like to use frozen fruit so I don’t have to add ice.  I’m not a fan of ice in my drinks.   I’m that person who orders my drinks with no ice when we go out to eat.

Then, you add in the cottage cheese.  A reader recommended swapping cottage cheese for yogurt when I shared this Healthy Orange Julius Smoothie and it has become one of my favorite smoothie ingredients.  Cottage cheese contains more protein than plain yogurt making it a great smoothie ingredient.  If you don’t like cottage cheese, you can easily use plain Greek yogurt.  Either way, you’ll get the protein your body needs.

This smoothie is great for breakfast but I also like making them for a quick afternoon snack.  Connor likes to drink one after school while he does his homework and Easton has one after his afternoon nap.

My favorite smoothie recipes are ones that don’t require a lot of ingredients and this Strawberries and Cream Smoothie has become a staple in our home.  Five ingredients is all it takes to whip up this delicious smoothie.  Not in the mood for a strawberry smoothie?  Easily swap out the strawberries for blueberries, peaches, raspberries or add all your favorite fruit – you can even add kale or spinach.

The possibilities are endless when it comes to making delicious smoothies.
