- Print out the pumpkin cards and cut them out. There are two versions available to print. One set is simple pumpkins numbers 1-18. The other set has 18 different jack-o-lantern faces for Halloween fun.
- Hide the numbered pumpkin cards around the house. It’s so simple to set up that even the kids can be in charge of hiding their opponent’s cards.
How to Play this Pumpkin Hunt Game
We have a few different ways to play this game depending on the number of players playing the game and the ages of the players.
How to Play with One Player
Print out the pumpkin cards and hide them around the house. The person playing must find each card. Set a timer to make the game a little more difficult. Hide 6 cards, 12 cards, or 18 cards.
How to Play with Multiple Players
Print out the pumpkin cards and score cards for each player playing. Hide the cards around the house. Once the pumpkins are hidden, players search for the hidden pumpkins and check them off their scorecard as they find the them.
Another way to play this fun game with multiple players is to hide one pumpkin for every person playing. For example, if you have five players, hide 5 pumpkins. Players are can race to see who can find a pumpkin first.
How to Simplify This Game for Younger Kids
If you want to simplify this game for younger kids, hide six cards or 12 game cards instead of all 18 and send all the kids out together to find them. Players can also pair up or work in small groups when pumpkin hunting.

Invest in a good home printer – I have an Epson Expression Wireless Color Printer that I currently use to print my printables and I’m very happy with it.
Choose the right paper – For best results, we recommend printing this game on white cardstock. When I’ve tried to print on regular paper I found that the ink causes the paper to wrinkle a little especially if the printable requires a lot of ink. Card stock is thicker paper that is better for printables that you want to use over and over again like this printable game.
Use a paper trimmer – I recommend using a paper trimmer if you are cutting out cards, game pieces, gift tags, and other smaller printables. It makes it so much easier to cut everything straight.
Use a professional printing service – I also recommend using a professional printing service to get the best quality. I go to Office Depot or Staples a lot to print my printables. I’ve also used Shutterfly and Walgreens to print large printables. Most printables use a lot of ink so it may even save you money to get them professionally printed.
Laminate them – Laminating printables will help them last longer especially if it’s something you want to use over and over again. I’m a little obsessed with laminating things and thanks to my handy dandy laminator, I can laminate anything right at home. You’ll also need laminating sheets.
