I have a slow cooker recipe that is easy, delicious and healthy. Does it get any better than that? And if you are making the switch to clean eating, like we are, than you will love this Chicken and Spinach Slow Cooker Recipe.
I kind of threw this all together the other day for dinner and my husband and I were both surprised at how good it was. The best part is – it only requires 5 ingredients!! Plus, throwing everything in the crock pot makes it so easy.
PrintChicken & Spinach Slow Cooker Recipe
Ingredients
- 3–4 chicken breasts (boneless)
- 1 package of frozen spinach (16 ounce)
- 1 jar of organic marinara sauce (I found mine at Trader Joe’s)
- 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese
- spaghetti squash or whole wheat pasta
Instructions
- Add chicken, spinach, and marinara sauce to slow cooker. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Before serving, prepare spaghetti squash or pasta.
- Serve chicken, spinach, and sauce over noodles. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
- Enjoy!
I must confess that this was my first time ever buying and cooking spaghetti squash. I’ve been wanting to try it for awhile now and I’m so glad we finally tried it. I might never eat pasta again. It was so easy to make and I love the way it tastes. I also love that it’s way healthier than pasta. But if you are a fan of pasta than this recipe will still taste great.
I made sure that I could read and understand all the ingredients in everything before preparing the meal which makes it clean. All the ingredients in the marinara sauce are organic and I read that parmesan cheese is ok in moderation when eating clean.
And even thought the picture might not look that great, this recipe is amazing. I hope you try it. Then come back and let me know what you think.
If you are trying to eat healthy than I’m pretty sure you will love this recipe. Oh, and there will be plenty left over for lunch which is a win-win in my book.
