Tips for planning a Christmas minute to win it game night

Plan to Play 8-10 Games – You might think that you’ll need more games to pass the time since each game only lasts a minute but there will be time in between each game to clean up, set up and score each game.

How to Keep Score –   I’ve created a Christmas Scorecard with this fun printable game pack to help you keep score. We like to give points to the top three players. The first place winner scores 5 points. The second place winner earns 3 points and third place winner earns 1 point. You can also just give the winner one point. Christmas Minute to Win it Games

Candy Cane Pick Up

In this fun Minute to Win It Game, players can only use a candy cane to transfer as many candy canes as they can from the table to a plastic bowl.  The player to transfer the most candy canes in a minute wins.

Christmas Kisses

This game sounds easier than it is. Before setting the time, place a pile of Hershey Kisses in the center of the table. Once the timer starts, players must unwrap the kisses wearing oven mitts.  The player to unwrap the most candy in a minute wins.

Christmas Ball

First, use masking tape or painter’s tape to create a starting line and finish line. Then give each player a lid to a box and a Christmas ornament. Players must move their ornament using only the lid of the box. The player to move their ornament across the finish line first wins.

Do you Want to Build a Snowman?

Tower of Terror is an easy no-prep game. In this fun game, players must stack three marshmallows to form a snowman. The player will continue to build snowmen for 60 seconds. The player with the most snowmen in one minute is the winner. To make this more difficult for older players, have them use only one hand to build their snowmen.

Naughty or Nice

Have you been naughty or nice? Let’s find out with this fun minute to win it game! Place two bowls in front of each player – one labeled NICE and one labeled NAUGHTY.  Sprinkle M&M’s around table. Players must use a straw to place red candy in one bowl and green candy in the other bowl. The player to transfer the most M&Ms in a minute wins.

Snowball Flight

This is another game that sounds easier than it is. Plus, you’ll have to play without laughing which is definitely harder than it sounds. To set up, create a starting line and finish line. Place three cotton balls at the starting line for each player. Then, have every player use only a straw to blow their “snowballs” as quickly as they can to the finish line. The first player to get their snowballs to cross the finish line wins.

Gingerbread High Rise

How high can you go? Give each player graham crackers, icing, and a paper plate.  Players have one minute to build a tower using the graham crackers and icing.  The player with the tallest tower wins.

O Christmas Tree

Grab those mini Christmas trees you’ve been collecting because it’s time to play O Christmas Tree. To set this game up, place mini Christmas trees a few feet away from each player and create a throwing line. Give each player a handful of glow bracelets and see who can toss the most bracelets on the treest in a minute. To make this easier for younger kids, place the tress closer to them or give them glow necklaces.

Jingle in the Trunk

Get ready to shake, jump and move because it’s time to play Jingle in trunk. This game requires more prep work than the other games but is probably the most fun – especially to watch. Take an empty tissue box and fill it with 12 jingle bells.  Glue ribbon to the back of the box and tie around player’s lower back.  Set the timer for one minute and see who can get the most bells out of the box in one minute.

Santa’s Cookie Stash

Santa’s Cookie Stash is an easy no-prep game. In this fun game, players must place a popsicle stick in their mouth and stack as many cookies as possible on to the popsicle stick. If their cookies fall, they must start over. The player to build the tallest tower in a minute wins. Use jumbo popsicle sticks to make it easier for younger children.
