Tools Needed to Make Fries in the Air Fryer
How to Cook Sweet Potatoes in the Air Fryer
The first step in making sweet potato fries is peeling and cutting the sweet potatoes. The thinner you cut them, them crispier they will be. We recommend keeping them close to 1/4 inch thick.
Next, place the fries into a bowl of ice water while you cut the remaining potatoes. This will help make crispier fries and draws out the starch, making them less likely to stick together.
Remove the fries from the water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Spray the potatoes lightly with olive oil spray and place about half of the fries in the air fryer. At the halfway point, remove basket from air fryer and shake fries around to make sure they cook evenly.
Transfer cooked fries to a sheet pan and keep them warm in a preheated oven while you cook the remaining fries. Once all the fries have cooked, toss them with seasoning and set aside until ready to serve.
