Thanksgiving 5 Second Game is a fast-paced family favorite game! Put 5 seconds on the clock and see how quickly you can name 3 things before time runs out! The whole family will have a blast playing this fun holiday game together.

Thanksgiving is the perfect time to play a game with all your favorite people and this Thanksgiving 5 Seconds Game is always a blast! We have the original game called 5 Second Rule and I wanted a Thanksgiving edition so, of course, I had to create one. The concept of this game is simple – Can you name 3 in 5 seconds or less?
Supplies Needed to Play
Here’s all you’ll need for this fun Thanksgiving game:
- Printable Game Cards (download below)
- White Cardstock
- Scissors
- Timer
- Prizes (optional)

How to Play Thanksgiving 5 Seconds Game
First, place the timer and all the cards on the table where everyone can reach them. Determine how many rounds will be played: for larger groups, play three or four rounds and for smaller groups, play four or five rounds.
The first player to name 3 is in the Hot Seat. The player to the left of the Hot Seat player draws a card and reads it aloud. As soon as the card is read, the player to the right of the Hot Seat player starts the timer. The player in the Hot Seat has 5 seconds to give 3 answers.
If the Hot Seat player names 3 in 5 seconds, they keep the card and score a point.
The player to the right is now in the Hot Seat and the player to the left draws a new card and reads it aloud and the player to the right of the Hot Seat player starts the timer. Continue going around the circle until you’ve completed the established number of rounds. The player with the most points is the winner!
If the player in the Hot Seat isn’t able to give 3 answers in 5 seconds, they get no points and the player to right now has 5 seconds to respond – However, the new player cannot use any answers that were previously given by the player in the Hot Seat.
