Skeleton Scavenger Hunt Halloween Game

Do you love playing games as much as we do? We love playing games especially holiday themed games and this Skeleton Scavenger Hunt is the perfect Halloween game.

Last week I was at The Dollar Store and I found these plastic skeletons.  They had three colors so I bought one of each thinking I could hang them around the house.  Then when I saw how easily the pieces snapped apart, I thought it would be fun to create a scavenger hunt for Easton, Connor and their friends in the neighborhood.  We also played this game while camping last weekend and all the kids had a blast.

The best part about this game is it costs $3 for the plastic skeletons and you can play over and over again. And, trust me, the kids will want to play more than one time which means us parents can actually sit back for a few minutes and have an adult conversation while the kids play this fun game.

Supplies Needed to Play Skeleton Scavenger Hunt

How to Play this fun Halloween Scavenger Hunt

First, you will need to snap the skeleton pieces apart. You might need scissors or a screw driver to help separate the pieces. Once all the skeletons are taken apart, hide the skeleton pieces around the house or yard.

Next, divide all the players into teams. The number of teams will depend on the number of skeletons you have. Assign each team a skeleton color. They currently have 3 different colored skeletons in the Dollar Store. If you want or need more teams, I would suggest numbering the back of the pieces of each skeleton and teams would have to find their number and color.

Now it’s time to search. Players must find and gather their bones. After each team has found all their bones, they must assemble the skeleton correctly.

The first team to assemble their skeleton correctly wins. A fun game for kids of all ages.

Connor and Easton even had fun playing the game together.  They took turns hiding the skeleton pieces and then each of them had to find their color.  A great way to keep kids occupied!!

  1. Such a good idea!! I found the skeletons finally! Me and my kiddos played and they had a blast! Thank u for a creative idea!

  2. If you can’t find the plastic skeletons, print out each piece (skull, left arm, right arm, etc) on a piece of paper and cut them out to be assembled by either brads or tape. It takes more work but it works! Then we created note cards with riddles/clues on where to find the pieces. Did this last year for our Halloween party.
