Handmade Lavender Rosemary Candles

I started making DIY candles a few years ago and it’s become one of my favorite craft projects.  Not only are they easy to make but it will leave your house smelling amazing while you’re crafting.  Plus, there’s nothing better than an easy DIY craft project, fabulous smelling candle and a fun gift idea.

And, let me just tell you – these Handmade Lavender Rosemary Candles smell amazing!  Lavender essential oil and rosemary essential oil are excellent companions and smell like a walk through the garden. This is the perfect candle to burn in your home after a busy day.  We all know that lavender is calming and relaxing but I just learned that rosemary helps boost mental energy which I’m sure we can all use.

Supplies need to make your own Lavender Rosemary Candles:

How to make Handmade Lavender Rosemary Candles

Start by unwrapping the Soy Candle Making Kit.  It already has everything needed to make your own candles so this is the perfect starter kitt.  Pour the soy wax into the pouring pot.  Add a cup of water to a sauce pan and place the pouring pot in the water.  Heat over medium heat until the wax has melted – about 5-10 minutes.

Add 15-20 drops of essential oil to melted wax.  The amount of essential oil will depend on the amount of wax you melt.  I melted all the wax in the kit so I added 10 drops of lavender oil and 10 drops of rosemary oil.

Pour melted wax into jars.  Add wick to center of jar. Hold wick in place using the wood craft sticks.  Let candles sit for 24 hours.

Trim wicks leaving about half an inch.

Note – 14 ounces of soy wax fills two 8 ounce mason jars.
