Purple is my favorite color so when I found these ombre beads at AC Moore I couldn’t wait to get home and make something out of them.
All you need to make your own ombre earrings are:
22 teardrop beads in 3 – 4 different colors
chain
jump rings
earring hooks
round nose pliers
headpins or wire
Step 1: Add jump rings to each bead. Use headpins to create loops on larger beads.
Step 2: Separate your chain so you have two pieces with 5 links.
Step 3: Add earring hooks to one end of the chain
Step 4: Add two light beads to the first link of the chain right under the earring hook. Add two more light beads to the second link.
Step 5: Continue adding two beads to each link until you have your desired length. Then add the darkest bead to the last link (you will have 3 beads on the last link).
Step 6: Put on your new earrings and admire yourself in the mirror (because that is what you will want to do).
I’m just learning how to make jewelry, but I love purple and I love what you did with these earrings. Simply lovely!

I would love to learn how to make jewellery, but I worry that my patience (or lack thereof) would get the best of me. Thank you for the tutorial. I feel as though I could actually give it a go! 🙂
Oh my. I bought earring things at hobby lobby the other day. I don’t make jewelry…it’s you! Your fault! I don’t have any beads though. I was going to hang weird stuff like soda tabs…the little girls would like it. If hubby has to build me a jewelry room he’s gonna be mad! No more jewelry DIY!!! I can’t afford another habit…
Super cute Kara:)
Really cute, Kara! I am loving the grapevine-style earrings this season!
These are beautiful! Love the color 🙂
I love making jewelry! I love the earrings you made! They are beautiful!
These are gorgeous! I love the purple ombre beads. You made it look so easy 🙂
Love it – wish I had more time to do so!
What a pretty idea! I do enjoy making jewelry, and will add this to my list of things to try!
These are awesome Kara! I love making jewelry! I feel so accomplished and proud when someone tells me they love my piece and I get to tell them I made it! 🙂 It’s the little things right?
I like to make jewelry, but I am not that great at it! I took a class one time that was really fun!
Have never made my own jewelry but would really love to give it a try!

Very pretty design. I love purple!
Aw, this was an incredibly good post. Finding the time and actual effort to produce a
superb article… but what can I say… I hesitate a lot and don’t seem to get nearly anything done.

I’ve made a couple really simple things. These are beautiful! I might have to try them if I don’t win!
I am really interested in trying to make my own jewelry, never have before. I don’t know a lot about how to do it but my daughter keeps asking if we can try. Gonna have to give it a shot one day:)
I really enjoy making my own jewelry, but I’ve never made anything as pretty as your earrings! Thanks for sharing!
love these!!!
I LOVE making my own jewelry, just wish I was better at it 😉
