This year Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday and I don’t know about you but the idea of going out on a Sunday night doesn’t sound exciting to me at all.  I would much rather be at home in my pajamas watching a movie on my sofa.

Chocolate Cherry Bars

When I think about Valentine’s Day, I think of two things – love and chocolate.  So, this year, I’m combing those two things with dessert and romantic movies at home.  Hubby won’t be home but a few of the girls are coming over for dinner and a movie.  And you can’t watch a movie without dessert so I will be serving these delicious Chocolate Cherry Bars.  I’m just going tell you all right now that they are AMAZING!

Now as far as the movie goes – The Hallmark Channel has it covered for us.  Their Countdown to Valentine’s Day features five original movies airing Saturday and Sunday until Valentine’s Day.  They also have a full line-up of romantic movies all day long.  This weekend I’m excited to have no plans.  The only thing I want to do is watch The Hallmark Channel.  Doesn’t that sound dreamy?  I can hang with Easton in my jammies and watch romantic movies all day long. And then at 8 pm CST, the girls and I will be watching Anything for Love.  I’m a huge fan of Erika Christensen from Parenthood so I’m really excited about this movie.

anything for love

This is definitely my idea of the perfect Valentine’s Day weekend. I have to be honest with you – not having the hubby home on Valentine’s Day totally sucks but thankfully I have Connor, Easton and the girls to keep me company.  And I’m pretty sure you can’t go wrong with chocolate, romantic movies, and great friends.  Oh, I need to add wine to that list.  We need some wine while eating chocolate and enjoying good movies.

Check out The Hallmark Channel’s full line-up of movies HERE and set your DVRs now because you don’t want to miss any of these great movies.  Also stay connected with them on Facebook and Twitter so you always know what shows and movies they are showing.
