We all know it’s the most wonderful time of the year but what do you serve all the guests your having over this holiday season?  I’ve got the perfect recipe for you – Granola Baked Apples!

Not only is this recipe easy to make, it’s the perfect dish to make for breakfast and dessert.  On Christmas we head to Maryland to visit our family.  We stay at my parents house with all of my brothers and their families.  It’s one big slumber party but that means we’re cooking for a large crowd.  And what do you feed a large crowd of people?  Delicious recipes like Granola Baked Apples.

I’m telling you right now – you can’t go wrong with this recipe and everyone will be asking for more.  All you do is scoop out the core of the apples and fill them with granola.  Then drizzle melted butter and maple syrup over the apples.  That’s it!  Bake for 30 minutes and cut right into your apples.  You can even top with ice cream or whipped cream for an extra special treat.

Soft apples with tasty, satisfyingly crunchy granola clusters for the win!

Quaker Simply Granola

For this recipe, I used Quaker® Simply Granola Oats, Honey & Almonds.  I liked the idea of the added almonds and honey.  I thought it would compliment the apples and I was right.  The Quaker® Simply Granola provides and excellent of fiber and whole grains.  Plus, how can you go wrong with any recipe that includes apples and granola.

My favorite thing about this recipe is you can make four Granola Baked Apples or you can make twenty.  One box of Quaker® Simply Granola Oats, Honey & Almonds and a bag of apples will feed your entire family.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Core apple with knife. Use a melon baller to remove seeds
  • Fill each apple with 1/4 cup granola.
  • Mix melted butter and maple syrup (or honey) in small bowl. Drizzle butter mixture over apples, making sure to cover all of the granola in each apple.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes.
