This Red, White, and Blueberry Caprese Salad has everything a traditional caprese salad has with the addition of blueberries.
Doesn’t that sound delicious?! I love a summer salad with blueberries.
How to make Red, White, and Blueberry Caprese Salad
Mix 1 pint of blueberries with one cup of mozzarella pearls and 2 cups of cherry tomatoes. Add three tablespoons of balsamic vinegar and toss to evenly coat. Top with basil – You can’t forget the basil. Season with salt and pepper and your salad is ready. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
It doesn’t get any easier than this!
I’ll be completely honest – I was a little worried that I wouldn’t like the taste of blueberries in this patriotic salad recipe but I wanted a festive salad that included red, white, and blue ingredients. So believe me when I say the addition of blueberries to a classic caprese salad is DELICIOUS and just what this salad needed! All the flavors compliment each other and the blueberries add just a little sweetness.
This salad is full of flavor and perfect for all your summer cookouts! I bet it would taste good with strawberries too. I’ll have to try that next time.
