It’s the most wonderful time of the year and it’s the perfect time to be with those who make you smile. As the holidays quickly approach, many of us will be expecting overnight guests. I don’t know about you but I get a little stressed when we’re expecting overnight guests. Not because I don’t want them to come but because I want everything to be perfect for them. I want them to relax, be comfortable and feel right at home. Here are a few simple ways to prep your home for overnight guests.
Add a nightlight
My dad actually travels with a nightlight and I always thought he was a little crazy but now I know why he does it. Help your guests navigate your home in the middle of the night by adding nightlights in the bathroom and hallway.
Place extra Pillows and Bedding in the Guest Room
Have extra pillows and blankets available in the guest room.
Don’t forget the towels
Show your guests where the linen closet is or set out plenty of towels and wash clothes for them to have while they stay at your house.
Stock up on Toilet paper
This is a must! You do not want to run out of toilet paper while you have guests staying with you. Keep a basket of toilet paper in each bathroom for guests. I love this Santa basket. I picked up 3 for each bathroom:) Isn’t it the cutest thing? Perfect for holding toilet paper during the holiday season.
And, can I just tell you that Amazon has rescued me from running out of toilet paper, paper towels – Ok I’ll just be honest – Amazon rescues me everyday. Do you know how hard it is to take a toddler to the store? Well, I don’t either because I don’t have to do it anymore. I just buy everything on Amazon. You can’t beat their same day shipping and their awesome deals.

Have extra toiletries available
I like to keep a basket of travel toiletries in our guest bathroom I also have plenty of extra toothbrushes available for overnight guests. You just never know what they’re going to forget.
Create a Coffee Station
Make it easy for your guests to make their morning coffee with a coffee station. That way they’ll know where everything is if they wake up before you.
Provide your wifi network and password
Download this FREE wifi network and password printable for your guests. Place it next to a box of Kleenex on the nightstand in the guestroom and your guests will be happy.
Place a Fan in the room
My hubby needs one thing to sleep and that’s a fan. Not only does he like to be cool while he’s sleeping but he likes the white noise of a fan. We take a fan every time we go to someone’s house so I made sure to place a box fan in our guest room just in case our guests need one to sleep better.
These are just a few simple ways to prep your home for overnight guests and make them feel comfortable while they visit. Have anything you’d like to add to this list? What do you do to prepare for overnight guests? Share in the comments below.
