  • 2 ounce can of evaporated milk
  • 10 ounce bag of white chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • Red gel food coloring
  • Small red crystal sprinkles for rim
  • Mini marshmallows, for garnish
  • Whipped topping, for garnish
  • Valentine sprinkles, for garnish
  • Heart candy, for garnish

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine milk, evaporated milk and white chocolate chips. Stir continuously over medium heat with a rubber spatula until filly melted.

  • Add 5-6 drops of red gel food coloring, stirring continuously until pink color forms. Add more food coloring until desired pink color is met. Set aside.
  • Run the rims of your mugs under clean water. Immediately dip the rims in a bed of small red crystal sprinkles, creating your red rim.
  • Pour hot chocolate from the pan into a large drinking pitcher to easily pour into glasses.
  • Top with canned whipped topping and/or mini marshmallows. Garnish with sprinkles and heart candy.

Notes

  • Watch and stir chocolate continuously for several minutes as it melts so it doesn't overcook.
  • This hot chocolate can be stored in a large carafe, hot drinking pitcher or slow cooker until ready to serve.
