How to Paint with Bubbles

Learn how to bubble paint with this fun tutorial! This is such an easy craft and perfect for kids of all ages.

Ingredients

  • plastic cups or small bowls
  • straws
  • paint
  • liquid dish soap
  • water
  • cardstock

Instructions

  • Add about 1 tablespoon of paint color, 2 tablespoons dish detergent, and 2 tablespoons of water to each cup.
  • Place a straw in each cup and mix paint, dish soap, and water together.
  • Start blowing bubbles into each cup of bubble solution.  Once the bubbles rise above the rim of the cup, lay your cardstock over the bubbles.  Then remove the paper and repeat with a different color paint.
  • Lay your paper flat on a table and let dry.

Notes

  • I used acrylic paint for this project but any craft paint will work.
  • If your bubbles aren’t coming up high enough in the cup, add an additional tablespoon of dish detergent and water to each cup and mix solution together.
  • Supervise young children and make sure children do not try to drink the bubble and paint solution.
  • I recommend using heavy cardstock for this project and not construction paper or white printer paper. You will want the paper to be thicker than regular paper to keep it from curling up.
