I finally made my very first hand painted wooden sign.
I’ve wanted to make one for awhile now but I was always too nervous to even try. I kept putting it off because I was afraid that I wouldn’t like it since I’m such a perfectionist.
But I love it and I’m so glad I made it. Plus, everyone asks, “Did you make that?” And I get to say “Yes I did!”
I was inspired by a sign from Mixin that I found on Pinterest but they do not ship to the US.
I printed the words on printer paper and used carbon paper to trace the letters onto the wood. Then I hand painted the letters with paint markers.
Once the paint was dry, I lightly sanded over the entire piece of wood and around the edges to give it a distressed look.
Much easier than I thought it was going to be and it turned out even better than I had imagined.
What DIY project have you accomplished that was easier than you thought it would be?
