Orange Julius Smoothie

My husband came home last week with a Nutri Ninja and I can’t believe we’ve waited this long to get one!  It’s awesome and now we can’t stop making smoothies.  The best thing about the Nutri Ninja is that the smoothies are SMOOTH.  No ice chunks.  It’s almost a combination of juice and smoothie in one which is exactly how I like my smoothies.

Hubby has been making us green smoothies for breakfast ever since we got it and I LOVE them.  Then, Connor came home from school with a soar throat and I threw together an orange and banana smoothie for him. Not only did it sooth is throat but the vitamin C was exactly what he needed.

After taking one sip, I realized it tasted just like an Orange Julius.  But guess what?  This one is way healthier!  Now Connor and I both can enjoy a smoothie that’s healthy and delicious.

  1. Kara, I made this smoothie this morning after reading your post. I used one large orange instead of 3 small,, 1/2 cup yogurt and 1/2 cup almond milk (in addition to the other listed ingredients). It was delicious and a welcome change from my usual triple berry smoothie. I recently read about adding 1/2 cup of cottage cheese to a smoothie for extra protein and creaminess. I’ll be adding this next week to my home-made Orange Julius…thanks to you!

  2. Hi Kathy, I’m so glad you liked the smoothie. Now I want to add cottage cheese to my smoothies. I’ll be trying that out today. Thanks for the tip.
