Halloween Fruit Salad - The perfect Halloween side dish

Are you looking for a Halloween recipe that’s both festive and healthy?  Well, you’ve come to the right! This Halloween Fruit Salad with Honey Lime Dressing is the perfect fruit salad for all your Halloween festivities.

This is my go-to side dish for Halloween parties.  I’ve made it for adult Halloween parties and school Halloween parties – and I always come home with an empty bowl.  I found that most Halloween parties have cupcakes, chips and all the normal party foods.  But, people still want something healthy to go with their buffalo chicken dip.  That’s what makes this the perfect Halloween salad.  Plus, kids love mandarin oranges and grapes which means the kids will eat this salad right up.

Halloween Fruit Salad

This festive fruit salad calls for orange and black (or dark purple) fruit.  I used canned mandarin oranges, cantaloupe, blackberries, and black grapes.  I recommend just using whatever is on sale.  I wasn’t sure if I would find cantaloupe this time of year but had no problem and the black grapes were on sale.  Blueberries would also work in this fruit salad.

How to Make Halloween Fruit Salad

This fruit salad is so easy to make!  Just add orange and black fruit to a large bowl.  You can serve it plain but I like to add a delicious honey lime dressing.  This adds lots of flavor and everyone loves it.  The honey lime dressing is made with just two simple ingredients – honey and lime juice.

Tips for Making Halloween Fruit Salad

  • This recipe can be made 5 minutes before serving or a few hours ahead of time.  I recommend refrigerating your fruit salad before serving to keep the fruit cold.
  • Store leftovers (if you have any) in an air-tight container in refrigerator for up to 48 hours.
  • Swap honey for agave or apple honey to make this recipe vegan.
  • I recommend using around 8 cups of fruit in this recipe so feel free to add different kinds of black and orange fruit.
  • Feel free to double or triple this recipe:)  All you’ll need to do is add more dressing.
